Plec and Rope fish.

The only fish I have that could be construed as Monster fish. I have two Rope fish, hard to catch them both in the same photo. The Plec is 15" long, the Rope fish maybe 14".

risky combo but the rope fish looks like it's doing well.

You don't see ropes that large every day.
 
Risky? This tank is a peaceful community tank, and there are two rope fish in there. The risky business is trying to grow plants with those monsters about.

Yes, keeping plecos (especially the common types such as your hypostomus/plecostomus) with polypterids is a risky choice. They are notorious for sucking on the bodys of polypterids, and causing skin infections that could lead to death.
