My most quiet fish is my 17" TSN until I put my 10" Pleco in while I was cycling the 55gal for the pleco. I couldn't believe the TSN Fighting with the Pleco but the Pleco was instigating. Now I have the Pleco with a Water Cow and a Channel Cat and the Pleco is in his own world could care less about the other 2. I do have to say nothing intimidates the Pleco he will go wherever he wants when he wants it's funny when all three go into the same hidey hole all squished together, the channel is the meekest in the tank.
How quickly things change. I was feeling bad for my Channel cat because I have a large piece of drift wood that could provide space for both the Sleeper and the channel on either end but the sleeper was being very territorial deciding when he wanted to allow the channel under. The pleco never seemed to care about hanging under the drift wood. So this weekend I decide to add a beautiful peice of PVC for the Channel. So what happens? The Pleco took over the wood the sleeper took over the PVC and the poor Channel is back out in the cold. Good thing the Channel is not aggressive. I just think it is so amazing how the Hierarchy works in a tank. None of them fight back at each other. If the Pleco or the Sleeper move away form there holes the channel goes right in until they come back to claim the territory again.
