Alright, so I've got some plecos in my 125.. from the top of my head I have:

3 Royals
1 whiptail
1 rubbernose (tiny tiny tiny little guy)
1 pitbull
1 para
1 emerald
1 blue phantom

They are in the tank with african leaf fish, eartheaters, clown loaches, and silver dollars.

Before I added the silver dollars, they were all in a 75. (cramped, i know)

So, they got upgraded to a 125, and they are much more happier..

Except.. I've noticed that my emerald had developed his whiskers, which I assume means he's maturing.

And he chases the blue phantom all over the tank.

Is this territorial, or mating? They are both 3-4", and the blue phantom does not have these whiskers. They were bought at the same time as well.

It's territorial. You might want to keep an eye on them and make sure the one being chased does not take any damage and is still eating.

Only other thing is the mix you have might not end well. The diet of all the other fish in there conflicts with the diet of the royals. the royals could or will end up with health issues.

They are all eating, and he never actually touches him. The blue phantom will stop, and the emerald will stop, and turn away.. but they share the same hiding spot with no issues.

As far as the diet comment.. Do you know what I feed the fish in my tank? No.

They get a varied amount of things, and the royals are perfectly fine.

I did not ask for info about the other plecos because I know how to keep and feed them. I simply asked about the chasing issue.

Variety or not you can't control what each fish consumes. It was friendly advice! If you take it or not I don't care. When your Panaque get sick or suddenly drop dead then you can look back and remember this tread.

You are sooooo full of it.. I have had these royals since 1". They are now all 6" if not bigger.

The plecos get what they need. Stop assuming.

Since this mix should never happen, then I guess royals shouldn't be housed with other fish, as those would require other foods too? HAHAHAHA

About 8 months.

So ur saying that your L190's grew almost an inch a month? Congrats on the record breaking pace. I have had mine for 2.5 years and they have only grown around 6"... under near perfect conditions... fed a hugely varied diet... in massively oversized overfiltered tanks...just saying...
If this is true you could make a living growing out huge panaques.

I've had them for over a year... almost 2 now. Once they grew to 6 inches, their growth has slown down, and they haven't grown much.
They are wild caught, I don't know if that makes a difference, and they eat anything and everything.. tilapia, zucchini, massivore, krill..
