Eh.. very rarely I see my plecos eating them. My para pleco will sometimes nibble on it, but I have had these for months, and there is no visible evidence of them being eaten.
So no, not worth it.

That's what I figured. Athough I've noticed the older my panaques get the more wood they consume
Yeah, mine are always on the middle piece of wood. 2 up top, 1 underneath.
