isnt the scarlet pleco extremely aggressive as well? you don't want a battle royal in your tank, right?

A Scarlett isn't going to bother a Dovii but he will be able to defend himself if the Dovii decides to play rough.

Most plecos, especially Pseudacathicus species, are covered in small (and sometimes not so small!), sharp spines. They will use their bodies as a weapon and actually "side swipe" another fish, usually a fellow pleco, but they can use this technique on other fish as well. My hands have been bloodied a few times grabbing a pleco the wrong way.

but will a large red scarlett be alright in a 125 long with a 12 inch dovii?

should work my plecos besides the cory cats are the only thing that can live with the dovii

i've tried a common pleco with mine and he looses the tips of his fins to the dovii .. so i'll just be worried about your L25's fins which would be gorgeously red.. my umbee though has lived with my L24 and he does occasionally do the same with its fins but not as often as the dovii does with his pleco tankmate

Most pleco's are fine. However if he swallows it. Ouch.
