Has anyone tried using these? I'm going on vacation next week and was debating picking one up and putting it in the tank.

Also I have a motoro ray a few angels and a endlicheri poly in the tank. (Yes I know some would say not to mix some of them, I have been watching and haven't seen any disc munching etc.)

Does anyone see any issue's with trying one as far as ingredients affecting water quality incredibly negatively etc? Also would my other fish be fine taking an 8 day fast or is that too long? If so I can try to find a friend to find them a few times in pre-measured doses, strangely I've heard more horror stories then good with fish sitters :)

Thanks all!

I never tried the block, but your pleco and bichir will be fine do a water change and just feed them a good amount before leaving. The motor is the only thing I would be worry about. When I keep true flower rays I notice they started to act up on the second day of not feeding.

Ive heard bad things about those time release feeder blocks. People come back to the worst water quality ever and iirc its because of the plaster holding it together. Most fish would be fine going 8 days without food, but I suspect the ray would get hungry first and likely eat some tankmates.
