Pleco breeding

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I mean in the same tank. I can only hav 3 tanks:irked:, but I want to have my saltwater tank, and 2 55 that I can breed fish in so I'm trying to see if I can blend them but I guess no.

A 55G is way too small to breed L114. I would think 125G would be the minimum for a breeding group over 10" each. A 180G would be better.

I wish I could afford a zebra, it stays small and I could make a lot of green :(

L400s and L450s are the first 2 that come to mind after the zebra pleco, which would cost you quite a bit more to get. They are not readily available, but there are a few around. Both are banned from export from Brazil. Both stay under 6" long, which makes them ideal for smaller tanks (No, I'm not calling a 55 gal small. My biggest pleco breeding tank is a 40 breeder.) And if you buy sub adults, they grow faster than zebras AND, they will cost you less $. Good luck.

I'm probly going to do zebras, as you can see I started a thread about it to see the cheapest zebra plec I could find. Its worth it it the long run because I can make some money.
