pleco for cichlid tank

Another special dietary requirement ....WOOD! For some reason I've never been able to keep royals alive for very long, I gave up on them long ago. Great fish though!

i want a pleco because i thought that was all my choices. what kind of fish period could i put in with a female rd and male green texas, im not locked into plecos but i thought that would be the only thing that would work
