Pleco has to go...algae eating options?

ive had plecos with bichirs for very long and never saw any problems.
but,my friend had a common pleco kill 3 endlis.
maybe try prochiodus(correct spelling?).

I've got one chocolate pleco and a couple farlowella cats in my 240 with my poly's...to date I have not seen my chocolate pleco mess with my poly's but the minute I do he will be taken out. I had a bunch of oto's in there before I got my poly's but obviously they became snacks...
The farlowella cats seem to do well, nobody even seems to notice them.
I don't really have any algae problems in this tank because i have minimal lighting (just over 1wpg) and plenty of live java fern, java moss, tape grass and a few large bunches of red ludwigia i pulled out of my 125g. For the most part my pleco stays fat on veggie pellets and the farlowella cat is the only one eating the algae that builds up where the tank gets direct sunlight...
