i was thinking sabertooth because of the spots but their isnt that many spots to fully be correct

Mouth pics, also any idea of age and sex? Also It looks like it could be either a L-201 or L-102.

Yup, not a vampire. Although it's not the same angle, you can see the "frilly lip" typical of a leporacanthicus.

The mouth looks more like L201:

But unfortunately PC doesn’t have a mouth shot like yours.

Maybe it’s a snowball L102?
I don’t think it’s a snowball L102, which has really big eyes; could you get another picture with the eyes?

Here’s the L102 mouth shot

Seems close. Can you get another mouth shot with teeth/

Maybe it’s a snowball L142? Again, a picture with the eyes could help.

Here’s the L142 mouthshot, which seems similar to yours:

Ok will try for more teeth and eyes, but he is REALY scared of me so im gonna have to get lucky.

I think its either a 102 or 201.. hard to tell. I second the suggestion of more eye/mouth shots.

Seems he like zucchini :naughty:. Also right in front of his dorsal fin there seems to be a lighter white spot, do you see it? Its like right on one of his spots, easier to see in the second pic.

Ok, the eyes are relatively small, so I don't think it's a L102.

Now it's between L201 or 142 (or something else that I haven't offered as a guess). If I had to guess, I would go L201. Hopefully someone else can let you know better if it's one or the other. (I think counting fin rays in the dorsal can help with the baryancistrus-142 vs. hypancistrus-201 question)

Looking at the pics of L142, L142 is like midnight black and their spots are bright white, but this guys, depending on the light you lookat him under, his spots have more orange in his spots and he isn't as black. I got him for 45 bucks, think it was a good deal? Also any idea on the age?
