Can anyone confirm the ID of this pleco?

I bought it as a gold spotted sailfin pleco, but they also told me it wouldn't get very big which I found isn't true after doing a bit of research on it.

Crap! That's what I get for not doing research. I am reading that they can be aggressive to other plecos. I have a bristlenose pleco and rubber lip pleco in the same tank. Will they be ok together or will I have to rehome the sailfin right away?

Thanks

If you purchased the SF pleco from a LFS let them know you were misinformed and try trading for something else, or store credit.

Not only aggressive towards other plecos but just plain aggressive ime. Mine would chase large cichlids including my 8" flowerhorn. Never know though as it tends to vary from fish to fish. They are very nice looking and your's especially.

That's not good for my tank. I don't really have aggressive fish in it.

At what size do they start to get aggressive to other fish?

I think I will keep it until it starts creating problems.

Mine started to chase the bigger fish around at about 7-8" mark. He didn't hurt any of the cichlids but I feel he was out competing my other plecs. Like I said it could be calm or it could be a serial killer lol. Just grow him out and watch him.

ok so I should have some time then before he starts getting aggressive. So far it has been fine. It has been the bristlenose and rubber lip that have been chasing him away. Hopefully it won't be too much of a jerk.

Thanks
