pleco on shovelnose

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What is the temp/ammonia/nitrite readings?

I would suggest seperating them too. If a pleco gets a taste for slime it usually wants more. Slime coat is like pleco meth.

When plecs get big they're lazy and dont do much for algae anyway. I would just use a mag float:)

ok i will try some algea tablets and if that doesnt seem to work i will be getting rid of the pleco... thanks for all of ur help.

If the pleco is going after slime coating, I wouldn't be trying algae wafers, instead try a meaty food, such as shrimp pellets, or sinking carnivore pellets.

will the slime coat of the catfish come back to it???
if youre asking if it will replace the slime coat, then yes, but it may cause aesthetic damage, etc. fish can produce a lot of "slime".

plain and simple separate the two before your pleco does some serious damage
and the cat is pretty small in relation to the pleco, but that will not be the case in just 2-3 months, if the TSN is well taken care of
get a smaller pleco :D
