Do alot of you keep plecos in with your african cichlids? if so how big are they and what kind?

hmmm maybe some clowns or bristle nose?
baby sailfins?

I keep many plecos/ancistrus in my tanks. Usually one per tank or sometimes I move them around. I'm not an expert on all of the L-numbers. I know I have a few "big ticket" ones that I've gotten for steals, gold nuggets, zebras, and many that are just common. When they get too big I take them to local auctions. Some don't get that big though. Some don't eat algae really well or need wood. I use mine mainly as janitors. The main knowledge that I have is that they usually can handle themselves with any africans that try to bully them.

yea you can. if you want it for algae eating, bristlenose are best. what are the water parameters? going that basically all plecs are from the amazon, they live in neutral/slightly acidic soft water, as apposed to hard alkaline water, so some are more fussy than others. synos are better

i keep a common pleco with my red tiger motas. They do kinda of bully the pleco around but hes fine

I have a common pleco in with my africans and have no troubles. I did buy him twice the size of the cichlids though just in case.
