I really doubt that man, I had a common pleco that was 3" in with my bigger africans and they nipped its fins (probably over territorial reasons). I would instead stick with the synodontis species, even though they don't get as colorful. Synodontis eupterus (upside down cats) are pretty awesome and work well with africans. Also, synodontis petricola
