Pleco?

I bought a fish a yr or so ago they said was a pleco. (say that ten times). Anyway I've never seen one like it anywhere. He's still only 3" black with yellow spots, very prickly, and grunts when he jumped out. you never see him. I"ll try and get a pic.

Sounds more to me like a spotted talking catfish (Agamyxis pectinifrons)

From your description and pic, I would have to agree that it is a definite possibility.

I did not realize this was in the saltwater forum...perhaps the OP posted it in the wrong section? There are no saltwater plecos and very few saltwater catfishes in the hobby.
