was thinking about putting some discuss and some plecos in my 120gallon. I know that would mean alota water changes, but i think it would make an amazing display tank. would it be safe though?

Depends on the types of pleco you want to keep. Discus IME are to big a target for meat eaters, unless the plecos are fed a good high protein diet. This mean MONSTER water changes, like 3 50% a week, give or take dependent on tank size:fish size.

It's a 120gallon tank with mass driftwood and plants, I planned on feeding them lots of beefheart, bloodworms, cucumbers and pellets every now and then.

U gota admit a pleco/discuss tank would look amazing. I wasent thinking monster plecos either for example, right now im in love with the gold nugget pleco, the L-134, and the l-02 the L-124 is nice!

I would stay away from the gold nuggets as they are carnivorous and that much harder to keep happy. The others are all should be ok. I have seen discus pleco tanks, but they have always been royals, and panaques, never carnivores.

hmm, thanks. I will do a search on panaque plecos on this sight and put up a list of what i might want. Lucky me that i already have 2 royal plecos :)

well, so far i have only found these types of panaques.
tiger
leopard
flashpleco

Any others that im missing besides royals

O, well i guess im gona say nvm on the discuss/pleco tank..

Guess, i'll grow out my 2 royal plecos, some clown loaches maybe 15, and a couple dats.

Those aren't panaques. The royals are all panaques, as is L090, and LDA065.

no, some are panaques. ;)
flash pleco- Panaque sp. (L204)
tiger pleco (if its the L002, as is a common name) panaque

the leopard frog is a small little peckoltia sp. that would do no harm

there are many many panaque species
