Pleco's dont use driftwod as thier diet, but more or less to aid in thier digestion.
Also, you should be feeding your plec's more than just once a week with veges. I give mine veges every 2-4 days.

yeah but none of the plecos in the tank touch any veggies.... so its kind of pointless feeding something they dont even touch.

the royal pleco actually uses driftwood as a main diet. but yes, some plecos do use driftwood to aid in digestion

I have seen commons chew on driftwood, so while they might not NEED it, I'm sure that they ENJOY it.

have you tried spinach, peas, or letting your veggis just float around? Mine will only eat them if they're floating.

I've had a Gibby for a few months and he will not touch any veggies. I've tried cucs, carrots, squash, zucc, lettuce and a few fruits and not a bite. Any suggestions??

(He does eat. I see him eating algae wafers and scavenging for extra pellets and beefheart when I feed the others but never touches the veggies.)

I've had that problem. It's called only wanting to eat junk food lol. Stop sinking tablets and the leftovers, and eventually it will eat the food. That's the theory anyway, you'll have to judge when it is becoming a hazard to your gibbiceps, but too much crude protein (esp. beefheart) won't be good for it. What algae wafer do you use? A lot of them are actually very high in protein content, and aren't necessarily what you thought they were. A lot of the more "veggie" plecs become addicted to the protein based foods...

I agree with Davo.

If you give them the choice, they eat the tasty shrimp food first. Too full to eat veges after that.

Cut back on the shrimp pellets and leave a tasty morsel of vege in overnight. When they get hungry they will be tempted.

Cheers

Ian

Dont be suprised if you don't get an instant result, but they can go without food for some time so... it's all good.

i had the same problem... what i did was i took the spoon out and tied it to a small piece of driftwood that i broke off of another large piece and rubberbanded the zuchini to the driftwood instead. they devoured it :)

I have the green and blue phantom and they love it
