Plecostomus with a Flower horn

Bristlenose plecos go crazy for brown diatoms, but are a poor solutions for it, once they're done with algae you'd have to not only provide them with an additional source of food but also worry about extra bioload.

What type of gravel are you using? I use sand and have experienced brown algae in a well established tank, most likely as a result of silicates in the sand itself, which is another culprit of brown algae, also your water might contain silicates. Seachem has a silicate test kit, if you're curious and the problem doesn't go away give that a try and see what your levels are. I've also successfully used seachems phosphate remover in the past, phosgate or some such, to keep the silicates in my water at bay.

Idk just throwing some ideas out there.
