I actually think it's the other sp. Black that normally comes out of Venezuala. There are pictures of Norberts towards the end of the 'post your wolfish thread'. These guys get a lot bigger than the xingu. I have a Xingu and a friend of mine has your one. when you see them side by side it's amazing how different they are.

I am after an Aimara also. Currently seaching german importers to find one.

thanks......even though ,i was told it was caught in the xingu river,WHO KNOWS? you could be right also.if it isnt a xingu,and its the other species black from VZ,well and be!im happy i just got one and if it gets a lot bigger,great!....thanks for your opinion,jelly....regards

Great looking fish either way

never seen a Xingu in person, just pics but they seem to have a flatter head with a longer nose (in comparison to the ones from Venezuela) that third pic (profile shot) looks Vene to me but it might just be the angle.

I don't know how accurate it is, again I've never had a Xingu, but I've heard they max out at 12-13" (?)

You have said it was captured in Peru. Xingu is in Brazil.
