I want to remove my overflow/sump setup from my 75g tank to use on a saltwater tank I will be setting up. I have 3 holes drilled in the tank, one drain and two returns. If I leave the bulkheads in, can I use cleanout plugs to block the bulkheads?

you mean like these? i think it may work. if they leak, you can always just use pvc fittings

oh yeah, those should be fine. just run some teflon tape to seal it up good

I've used both of those. I have several tanks with a pvc bulkhead in the bottom glass and i just removed the bulkhead, cleaned the surface really well and then siliconed in a 2"x2" piece of glass to cover the hole.

I've done several like that without any issue, I don't know how well that would work on an overflow because of gravity but it would probably be fine as long as the silicone is allowed to set up.

The holes are on the back of the tank, and the tank has to stay up and running. It's a glass holes kit, sits at the top of the glass.
