Above is the main tank, I find the plants and algae(along with water changes)snails and shrimp in the refugium keep my nitrates between 2 and 5 ppm, and seems to filter out particles before they get to the main tank.
Although I must admit I don't discourage algae at all except on the front glass any of my main tanks.
