The Wife and I have started planning out summer project. Its going to be a 135-200gallon Frontosa tank. Here is a rough idea of what we want, let me know what you guys think and anything that can be helpful. Thanks

96"wX24"hX22"D

its going to be 24"tall but only going to be filled to 21-22"s

i plan on using a picture frame style front for support and then line the side and back of the tank with 3 separate 2x4"s. plus along the top of the tank i want to use 3 allthread bolts to help keep the tank from bowing out, along the back and bottom i want to use 2 also. so a total of 7 all thread bolts, and also viewing the front of the tank i might do a few all thread bolts going Front to back. will give the tank an industrial style look

here is what ive come up with soo far

830g, Lookin' good. Is it going in the house? 7000lbs :nilly: :D

Since you didn't specify glass or plexy thickness you may want to consider a .250 2"x2" angle iron across the top front.

Not sure if im missing something here but i thought the tank was going to be 182gallons. i reread what i posted and the measurements where correct. 98x24x22 with only 20"water hieght. im using a piece of 3/8" glass, and it wil be epoxied to a piece of plywood with a viewing hole of 92x20

94W x 22D x 20 (actual water height) is about 179g by my calculation.

Dr Joe, you're slipping :grinno:
Where did 830g come from?

thats what im wanting to know. Whats everyone think about using the 2x4s and then All thread bolts for strength?

That was a test...and you all failed!!!:ROFL::ROFL:

224g @ 1835lbs :D

:screwy: I'm still not used to this new converter. I read the liters #. :irked:

I'm surprised y'all didn't immediately convert that ;). :grinno:

Use the 2x4s on edge for greatest strength.

And if your going thru several 2x4's put nuts and washers at each one to fine tune the tension (& spread it between all supports).

Hmmm, I forgot there was even a converter.
I type the lengthxwidthxheight into google and then type "however many cubic inches to gallons." and it gives me a number.

I guess I'm doing it wrong....:screwy::grinno:

i do WxLxH, divide by 1728 and X by 7.48

l x w x h divide by 231:)
