Plywood tank build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry there hasn't been any new updates. I just got called back to work last week so I've been pretty busy. Figure the glass is a couple of paychecks down the road so hopefully by the end of the month. I have been working here and there on the new canopy and it is coming along nicely. Maybe this weekend I'll have a chance to post a pic of it.

I haven't finished the canopy yet I've been awfully busy. Truth is I 'm not sure what I'm going to do with the whole thing now. I learned so much during the building of this tank and between that experience and seeing all the cool things other guys have done I have a whole whirl of ideas in my mind for something much larger and built in wall. So I may finish this one and sell it or just shelf it for a while. That 4000 gallon catfish build has me really inspired to do something completely out of 2x4's with no plywood. Kind of a log cabin effect with interlocking corners with a varnished outside showing off the wood. Needless to say money is still a little tight around here so it's all dreaming right at the moment. I'll decide what to do when the time comes.

The fun for me is 99% in the building anyway so I may just keep experimenting until I'm totally satisfied with the result.

don't shelve it I love your design. at least get it finished before you move on to the next one. every tank is inspiring and yours is no exception. you have chosen an interesting design and that is a big challenge. we all want to see it finished. if you choose to sell it then at least it will be some cash towards the 4000G build.

I just got a tank; it's cycling now but now i think i might just start a little summer project with my BF and build one! It's shaped really cool.

Great build man, just read the whole entire thread and man I just love the design. I thought about do one like that but thought it would be a pain in the rear end so I didn't do it, went with the basic instead. Anyway don't give up on it yet I want to see how the filter system turn out and in the long run you might regret not finishing it like I did my 325gal.
