looking good I sure like the way this thing is gonna look when finished. just a word of caution on your polished river rocks I have used them and they work great but wash them thorougly and when done do a test in a bucket before you put them in your tank and check the water parameters. some of these have been machine polished and the polishing agents arent cleaned off very well. I say this from first hand experience. I lost a tank full of cons because of this. I still have the rocks in my setup but have washed them thorougly and ensured they where reslly clean before I out them in the tank again.

Thankyou for the word of caution about the river rocks. I had thought I should boil them before hand but wasn't really sure if it was necessary. I see now I had better.
Those canister filters got me thinking! Today when I was in home depot they had some 2' length of 6" pvc pipes. Might have to look into doing some diy filters for some of my tanks now! Beats the usual 5 gal bucket filters i normally make lol.
I did some reading on this site last night about bio media. I see that the nylon pot scrubbies have alot more surface area than the lava rock I had originally intended to use. The fact they would be alot lighter will make them a lot easier to work with in this application. Of course cheaper in this case is also better.

i did one, and I'd suggest to scuplt your foam, cover with 2-3 thin layers of concrete (throw garden soil while the last layer is wet), and finally cover the final result with epoxy so it'll be everlasting.
