PLZ!!!! I NEED HELP!!! with RD sorry its so long

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a 9" O, an 8" RD, 4 cons and a 3" JD in a 55, and its WAY overcrowded, in my opinion.

my fish are begging for a 75, so I can split all of them between the two tanks.

Get rid of or provide a larger home for the dovii and knives.Make sure your water temp is not flutuating too much during your water changes. And of course 1st get rid of the ick, Quick cure works great

over crowded LOL alright thanks anyway y'all NO THIS IS NOT ANY OF THEM'S TANK FOR LIFE everybody is still SMALL all the cichlids will be going into an indoor pond of about 1000g. or more in a few months i think they can hold out that long

I'll just continue my once a week waterchanges

OVERCROWDED lol

i do not know if your over crowded or not but all the fish you mentioned in the beginning of thread are pretty big... i would definitly just continue with water changes .. adding a little aquariam salt and raising the temp some and then just work on the upgrade when you can..daily water changes will do so much to keep them healthy.

Call it what you want my friend, but you have several medium to large fish in an average size tank. Even with your frequent water changes, it's probably difficult for your filtration system to keep up with the bio-load of twice daily feedings. Your RD's problems are certainly attributed to stress. The fact that the symptoms of ich are exacerbated by stress will continue to cause problems for you in this tank. If you have problem children, i.e. the knives, you should separate them from the others. It's great that you're giving your fish a 1000g pond, but in the meantime the problems are going to continue until you start losing fish. If you have any way to do it, separate the fish as best you can until you finish the pond project. Good luck.

in the end they will all have there OWN tanks the dovii's are going into the pond, along with the devil and his girl when i get her, the knives are going into a 100g. I am fixing, and so on........

the 110g. is ONLY TEMP. I just thought that only one HARDY fish was getting sick like this EVERYWEEK was weird when the knives are a hell of alot more sensitive to water conditions than a devil is.

Do things your way then. I don't see much point in asking for help or opinions if you just disregard them if you don't like the answers you get.

I think you are overstocked-I hope you plan to upgrade-to much of a bio-load for a tank that size-not only that if your Dovii ever breed all your other fish are toast.

whoops just read the part where you mention having a pond-turn the heat to around 84 that usually gets rid of the ich.
