that looks exactly like my flowerhorn. her scales were coming off and he meat started showing. she died but i hope yours doesnt. try using some salt and some meds and hope for the best bro

Possibly Overfed, yes you can kill them by feeding to much (#1 most common death is aquarium fish) they don't know when to stop, they are opportunistic eaters. What is your water change schedule, could also be toxic water.

Need to know more to help, that's like taking ur car to a mechanic and saying somethings wrong....... That's it.

Not over feeding he was in a 180 community tank with plenty of filtration and weekly water changes I think he got beat the f"!$ up

It sure looks like it got the snot kicked out of it.

Dose aquarium salt at 1 tbsp per 5 gallons. It's going to be important to prevent a secondary infection or fungal infection (white cotton growth) from developing. VERY CLEAN WATER is what you will need. The water in that tank is not looking very good. Do a very large water change add the salt and do a 50% WC every day redosing the salt to replace what has been removed by the water change only. You should see improvement in a week or so. You can then stop treating with salt but the water quality must remain high, this is the single most important facture in helping this fish recover and can not be over emphasized. Once it's on the road to recovery you'll have to rethink what's going on in the 180 as far as tank mates/agression are concerned. Good luck.

Hard to tell visually but that water does not look so clean. Looks like he got beat up and his fins are also burnt.

Bro - your water looks crazy bad.. Prolly the root of the problem, need to maintain your tank or this is what can happen. I'd do a serious water change and add plenty of salt, jack your heat up to 88 degrees and start doing weekly water changes...
