Hey Guys,
I received a very disturbing call today, in which I was informed that Poco's life ended over the weekend.... :shocking:
Cause of Death: Old age (approx. 16-17 years old)
Body Length at time of death: 16 2/8 inches (TTL)
Poco's name was given to him by a LFS Owner. The same person who collected him from the wild at about 8 inches during a collection trip in the later part of 2000. A very rare find, in deed.
Poco was traded-in by his first owner and purchased by me for $99.00, October 2001. Since then, Poco had spent a short time with BigRed, then offered to a Hobbyist in San Antonio for breeding and private display in late 2002. Since the collection, Poco has grown from 11 inches to about 16-17 inches in total length... Can you imagine his weight???
He was truly the best in body shape, color, markings, of any Tiger Variant Midas - 'known to me'. I do have to thank 'Cichlid Scene' for the inspiration and guidance on caring for Midas!!
Okay, I had searched through dozens of folders containing thousands of pix from 2000 to 2003, in order to provide images of this once outstanding animal.
April 19, 2002: [My first 2.0 mega pixel camera and first time using it]
April 28, 2002:
May 11, 2002: First breeding attempt
August 22, 2002: Avatar image for 3 years
August 22, 2002: Second breeding attempt
September 29, 2002: Last pix ever taken...
