Poison Dart Frogs

99% of the time you will have to modify a tank for the specific needs for these animals. They can not tolerate high temps but require a high humidity level. The trick is making sure you have the proper cover over the tank with the proper ventilation. I run a custom cut glass canopy over mine with a 1.5 screen cover. This allows the temps to stay cool while keeping the humidity up. I've attached a picture so you can understand the setup.

As far as lighting goes, I use leds because they give off very little heat compared to other lights while still keeping the right amount of light for proper plant growth.20150325_112634.jpg

Just two quick pics from feeding time. If you look at the picture of the mints (white frogs) you can see the bottom one is in mid lunge with his blurry tongue grabbing a fly. 20150325_115056.jpg20150325_115153_3.jpg

fantastic terrariums; I love them.
The idea of keeping these frogs has been on and off in my mind for a few years: haven´t done it yet, but know I will in the future.

Same here and though not a dart frog I also love the red eyed treefrog.Really nice setups you have going on there.

The downside to red eye tree frogs are that they're nocturnal

Thanks!

Red eyes are definitely a very attractive frog. I once read someone post on a PDF forum about how their kid wanted a red eye treefrog. One member recommended that they just put a green leaf in a tank for a week and see if the kid still wanted one after the week was up. Basically saying the green leaf will move as much as the frog. haha

Very cool set ups!

Is it possible to keep the red eye tree frogs and dart frogs together in one tank?
