This is a real conversation between me and my 15-year-old daughter:

She: "Can I take an aerobics class with Jane (my sister, name changed to protect the guilty)?"

Me: "Sure, where is it?"

She: "On campus. At Pole Kittens."

Me: "Pardon me, I thought you said 'Pole Kittens' ?"

She: "Yeah, it's a pole dancing aerobics class."

Me: "And my sister does this? She's a pole dancer?"

She: "Yeah, that's why Joe (sister's husband, name changed to protect the naive) bought her a pole for Christmas."

I thought a "pole kitten" was a baby skunk. Turns out my sister is officially a pole dancer -- but instead of getting paid to do it, she is paying someone else to let her!!!

i really hope my daughter doesnt ask me if she can start pole dancing when she is 15, even if it is just for fitness. Is it illegal to lock a teenage daughter in her room if you make a slot for food to fit thru?
