which is I am covering it. I have never seen common eels for sale in Britain. got any links I can use?

Make sure you cover it tight then.

I'll send you a few links larer mate, I have definately seen them.

sounds cool. right now I am planning filtration, I was wondering if anyone has any cheap ideas?

make a sump with a large plastic container. You save money by not having to pay outrageous prices for glass or acrilic.

time for an update. I recently set up two tubs (1 7 gallon and one half a gallon) which will help my pond cuttings to grow. I recently collected a couple of pond cuttings for them to grow. it is a variety of lavender, buddleia, privet and more. these cuttings will form part of the ponds' filtration, alone with aquatic plants and sponge media. the middle pond( only one with water) currently has a large population of mosquito larvae and those will make a nice food source for the goldies that will live there, along with separate tubs that culture bloodworm, worm, flies, and mosquitoes.

Sounds good when you gona try fish still waiting for spring ? where you been anyway pole ? Its been quiet on here without ya ;)

im gonna try fish in spring yes, been busy with chameleon research and collecting cuttings for the pond, along with school.

What happens if you put a chameleon on a mirror ? ;)

What kind of chameleon do you have, or are you getting? They're great pets, but I found them to be a harder pet to keep. Mine got sick and died before even seeing 6 months. I did tons of research and tried to do everything perfectly too. I hope you've got better luck than myself.

Like someone else posted, if you contact your local government fish and game agency, they're usually willing to issue a permit or offer advice/applications to help you get the fish you want. You'd be surprised how many of them are hobbyists themselves. I always try to talk with local fish and game wardens if I see one where I am fishing. They're great resources on native species and will likely help you given the opportunity.
