Police beating caught on tape

Like I said before. I hate cops for the most part as a lot of the ones I have run into are just full of it and abuse their power. They seem to walk around with a chip on their shoulder. I mean don't get me wrong, I have run into good cops as well and I respect them for the job they are doing. But if I do a ratio, I have run into 75% bad and 25% good cops. For the good cops out there that have been helpful and professional, I'd like to say Thank You but to the rest of the 75% I've run into. I hope the samething comes your way someday.
there are good and bad in ALL things. no one organization has 100% good honest people. there will always be some who are genuinely nice and caring and others who play like they are until they think noones looking, then they will turn from dr. jekyll to mr. hyde. i wont say it was a racial attack, even though it looked like such. the man was definitely older and not as serious a threat as they reacted for. i believe they should be jailed and put with the men they put away. then we will see who is getting their heads beashed in while others stand by
OK braintrusts/tough guys/angry youth, let's break this down:
1) Your outrage is justified. Why? I'll tell you why, because cops are supposed to be upholding the law of the land, and therefore need to be law abiding citizens. It is beyond outrageous when that trust is abused. Those assh*les should spend time in jail for beating up an old man so harshly.
2) Hate crime? Lets not turn this into the race issue its not. You have men stretched to beyond the breaking point with their city being destroyed and their leader resigned, not to mention an awfully large number of missing/dead officers and officers committing suicide (2 I believe). However, it was a gross overreaction to a minor drunken violation and they should spend time in jail for assault, lose their badges and jobs.
3) Small towns and dirty cops - yes, it tends to happen in areas that college kids are just "passing through." Life isn't always fair. There are some crooked morons out there, it's truly a shame.
4) Most cops are good, hardworking, decent people who put their lives on the line every day to allow us all to live a relatively safe existence. I guarantee that Josh's experiences (although sucking) are far from the norm. Plus, examine your attitudes. I find that with a level headed approach, you get a better response. I can't tell you how many times I've received great driving directions from cops. The only times I've ever been hassled is when I was a rambunctious college kid.
Lighten up on the law. Let's face it, the rotten apples are particularly loathsome, and really are a disgrace to society. They are also the vast minority. Without all the good cops, this country would have gone crazy long ago. If you think our boys in blue are bad, I invite any of you to go travel abroad and let me know what you think. Trust me, it's not the same.

Well, when I was arrested for speeding, I must say, the cop was very polite 
He also considered that I had a clean record, had good grades, didn't drink, didn't do drugs, and had been known to help out the less fortunate around the community. They knocked it down from a $1500 reckless driving ticket to a $200 speeding ticket. I was guilty as hell, I was doing 103 in a 70. When he arrested me, he was nice enough to call my mother (who was visiting and at my apartment) to tell her I was on my way to jail. He wasn't harsh, I gave him no attitude. Did I have to go to jail for that? I don't think I did, but he was civil, he didn't abuse me, and he was straight up hoenst with me.

I think there are times that these beatings are completely uncalled for, but other times it only appears that way because we haven't seen the 5 minutes or so leading up to the event.

What did i do so wrong to deserve that ??? I'll tell you Nothing !!! i was 15 years old ( A KID )and we were street kids yeah we hung around on the park smoking, drinking having the occasional fights with kids from other gangs ! nothing too criminal, I walked home one night from been out with my friends and the police stoped us ! i had my portable stereo on me so we could listen to music on the park ! they pulled me over the stereo ( or because they saw 2 lads that looked dodgey ! (I'E me and my pal ) )i told the officers it was mine and all they had to do was to ask my parents no they just kicked the sh*t out of us and broke my stereo ! and sent us home !!!

Also my parents got Burgled it took nearly 17hrs until the Cop's turned up !!!
well, some interesting views here..! first off, have to say that those of you with "glowing" remarks for the boys in blue have never been upclose with the ones here in lansing mi... yes, i understand that not all ossifers are bad seeds... but, what would ya think your viewpoint would be if you had personal experience with the 75% or so rotten apples in a given area?? well, believe me, it definitely makes ya wonder where the hell the "good ones" are...
and, by the way, i HAVE been "broken down" on the side of the road here in michigan more than few times and have NEVER had an ossifer- be it county, or state police offer ANY assistance...
one more thing... i do agree that the "fellows" in naw orleans exercised very poor judgement... being whiteys and all.... how come there was not the equivalent amount of "moral outrage" about the video showing two black female ossifers looting a local store in n.o just a few short weeks ago...???
