If you are determined to get some more fish for the 40gal, get them in a fairly large group. Try to off set the aggression by over stocking the tank. It would be a very limited amount of time before you needed to move them though. Maybe a month, possibly two at best.

what about just like one jag or oscar
would an oscar fight with the gt alot ?
the 125 will not be started till christmas atleast
it will be a family tank because i dont have enogh money for the filters lights ect.
so my gt will be in a tank with what ever i buy
i think the oscar would be a good choice lower agression than the gt grows faster than the gt and is suiteable in the 125
but im not the wisest person so....
after the gt and what ever i buy move out
the tank will get some mexican tetras

although i voted to get an oscar but when everyone says not to add another fish to your tank they say it for a reason. but you keep coming back to the same point of adding this fish or that fish. these people are experienced fish keepers. its better to listen than to repent later. get your 125g then think of getting more fishes.ryeguy28;3480033; said:

I like the Oscar idea better than the piranaha you were thinkin' of putting in with your GT..............just think for a moment and re-read what you already wrote.
In 2 short months you'll have a 125 up and running at that point you could get yourself - An Oscar, a Jag, a Cuban, a Green Sevrum AND add your GT - if you get them all in the 125 as juvies and they all grow up togather and are used to each other by adulthood you'll have 1 sweet tank - all because of being patient.

thanks everybody but i decided to wait on getting anything till i get the tank and i will most likily go with an oscar
