Poll: You choose my pleco

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wouldnt do a gold nugget. They look great when little but kinda boring when they are large. Id say l200 or maybe L134? The l134 is a little more expensive but a beautiful fish.

Id say 98% yellow. I see some small black spots. ;)

One dot and you take 2% of the total 100% lol - how about your round the percentage?

IM just crackin a joke. Id love to have another. Mine didnt make it past 2 weeks. Sucks i cant get one of your yellow ones.

Do you know why it didn't last very long? they like very clean water and low PH.
Almost pure RO will be perfect for them, though they are some records of people keeping them alive in Tab water.

I'd go with L200, OP. L14 is beautiful but would outgrow your tank. L18 gets too large for your specifications too.

Or there's always farlowella, which aren't bright and shiny pretty but awesome still.

For color, perhaps look into L333.

L333 is nice, but I prefer L134. L260 is also a great choice. Both are striking, Amazonian, and max out around 4". Cons are that they are at the upper end of your price point, may not be readily available at your LFS, and can be a bit more shy. There is nothing more annoying than shelling out the money for pretty only to never see it. After a few months, they typically become more comfortable in their space and are much more visible. Although omnivorous, these guys skew towards the more carnivorous end of the spectrum. This could be seen as a plus if you need a cleanup crew to ingest the leavings of your other fish. However, if you are hoping for an algae-eater, these guys probably won't help you out much. Good Luck
