Well not really dithers, I'm wondering how large of a fish would a 7" polleni see as a snack? I have one and I'm getting a large group of mascara barbs, these should be around 3.5-4 inches.

duanes duanes i know you have more experience than most with polleni. Knowing some fish try to eat things way too big, what would be the smallest size tank mate you would comfortably try with polleni?

They eat Madagascan Rainbows in the wild and they grow to about 4” or so. Consider them similar to oscars in max size and behavior. I think getting a teller bodied schooling fish that hits 5” plus is your best bet. Bosemani rainbows, Goydwr river rainbows, etc would probably work well

Hmmmm, the polleni may have to go then, I really want the school of 10 mascara barbs in the larger tank.

About 5" I think. Right now he is in my hap/peacock/mbuna tank, where he's been for the last 2 years. Oddly he hasn't tried to eat any of the smaller mbuna, I might give it a try and if he does try to eat them I'll move him on.
