Polleni large spot fry

agreed they look like Bleekeri, not Polleni. Bleekeri Have large un-uniformed spots and polleni have small more uniformed spots :D Congrats though thats awesome, they are hard fish to breed!
 
the names for these fish are confusing, they are bleekeri, but some sites refer to them as large spot and small spot polleni in UK, i believe them to be Paratilapia Fiaranantsoa please correct me if i'm wrong, i had to raise these guys in an egg tumbler as the parents kept eating the eggs just before they hatched, fantastic to watch them keep moving eggs round tank though.

This fish is indeed a bleekeri i meant to name thread paritalapia large spot and not sure how to change title
this is an update they have grown lots and size and colours are varied too,

I'm growing out a P. polleni(LS) to put in with my macs too. Great minds think alike.

BTW- OUTSTANDING JOB YOU'VE DONE, SPAWNING THESE BEAUTIFUL FISH!!!!

I call them P. polleni large spot. I will follow what "malagasy bible" tells me. I have yet to see much other published writting that says otherwise. But then again, I don't do "that much" reading these days.
 
Hi softturtle, my p.maculatus and bleekeri pair get on fine, the baby bleekeri's have been beating each other up though, i,ve had to take out a dominant male for being aggressive to the others and the only tank i had spare has an Angel, kuhulii loaches and a gourami in, but amazingly all are living happily together as my adults did when they were temporaily housed in my Malawi tank. they are growing quick now and look just like the adults.
Since i have taken the adults out of their own 4ft and placed in the 6ft with the mac's and plecs they have not been interested in breeding, they use to lay about every 3mths before.

Yeah, those Paratalapia can be rough on each other. I started with 6, and now have given all but one away. I kept the dominant one (male?). It is turning into a really beautiful fish now. It will be a nice addition for the mac's tank.
