I've recently bought a poly endli but ive had him for a week now and theres no sign of him eating all he dose is hide in the gravel under some bog wood, ive trie feeding him river shrimp, bloodworm, krill, chopped and whole cockle and he hasent eaten. I have a slight feeling he mite of eaten some of the left overs at night but im not a 100% sure.

any ideas??

Teagu...

It is not uncommon for a bichir to require some 'settling in' time before it starts eating. Keep an eye on your fish and perhaps you'll catch him eating soon. If not, try something like live earthworms or live ghost shrimp and see if those get his attention. You don't mention how big your fish is but if he is large enough you might try frozen (thawed first) silversides or lance fish. It appears to me that Polypterus endlicheri might be more of a piscivore (fish-eater) than many other bichirs.
