poly has RED NOSE?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The red is probably bruising as well as from the blood being sucked to the surface of the skin/scales. After 10 minutes there could be considerable damage.
I'm not sure where people get the idea that a 90% water change would be harmful. The bacteria live on solid surfaces, they aren't free floating.

It should heal up fine with some TLC. Just keep up with your water changes and a little salt. As for 90% water changes, that may seem drastic to some, but I know a couple of people that do 80% and there's never been an issue. Beneficial Bacteria can recolonize very quickly in an established tank. As long as you aren't cleaning the filter and doing a large water change at the same time, you should be good.

His nose has already considerably healed up. Exactly ben after a while wouldnt my bb get used to the big water changes similar to a tank that has a drip system where the water being added has an ammonia level of 1.0. Kinda the same thing just no where near as noticeable.

All healed up
