Melafix is safe and an antibiotic, not the most effective but it can work. If you have to use it, make sure the water is highly oxygenated, as it creates an oily coat over the surface that is dangerous for air breathers.

I have an oxygen stone as well a hob filter. the airstone is connected to an 8w large airpump that is currently only set on half power as it is extremely loud on full power.
