well some bad news, before I was able to get home and put the salt in the tank his right eye had started to turn red and haze over as well. The good news is, I woke up this morning and his right eye is almost completely cleared up and his left eye is beginning to heal. Thanks everyone for the advice. Aquarium salt is a lifesaver. Or in this case, an eyesaver.

. I have a wild caught non-native turtle that ended up getting shell rot and was able to cure it on my own luckly due to getting a burn from my kitchen stove. I scored some silver burn cream which is used to treat shell rot at it's begining stages.
