Alright guys, here it is. I've worked this deal for about a year now and it's ready to be offered. This is a ONE TIME ONLY offer. If you miss this opportunity, you will NEVER get another.

I've been working with my local fish farm, Osage Catfisheries, for about eighteen months now. I planted the bug in the ear of the owner about possibly releasing some of these fish into the hobby. Now that the current young of the year are about ready, I broached the subject again.

He said yes!

Normally he doesn't sell to hobbyists because there's no money in it and it takes a lot of time and work compared to bulk orders for ponds. However, I volunteered to do the leg work and administrative work in order to get this together, all he has to do is box fish up and take them to Fed-Ex. He said he thinks this could work.

The babies for MFK are being raised in a 1,500 gallon breeder tank and are pellet fed. They will be ready to go at the end of May and will be around 4" long. If there's sufficient interest I'll drive up there Wednesday or Thursday and get pics of the actual stock.

The fish will be available for $50 each fish plus actual shipping anywhere in the lower 48. Shipping will be through Fed-Ex and is estimated to be $60 to $100 for a small order of a few fish. More fish shipped would obviously cost more.

A few facts about Osage Catfisheries-

  • In business for over 50 years
  • Does business all over the world
  • Last week they shipped paddlefish eggs to Taiwan, China and Europe
  • The only licensed-to-export paddlefish breeder in the United States

Damn, if only I had a swimming pool sized fish tank. Putting any of these in my 1000g would be like keeping a dog in a closet for life. Awesome fish though.

Nice work Chic.....closest one can hope to get to a sawfish,I want one.

I would love to do it, such neat fish, just so worried about tank size ..... I hear these guys destroy their paddle by pumping into the glass constantly ... awesome work chicx and thanks .... I think you can count me in for 1! :D
