I think it may be a species with grow spurts instead of a linear growth.

Yeah, indeed. I should stay optimistic. I will think of that monster ansorgii when I pray!:nilly:

Nice pics, Yuchia!

Is the colour a white balance issue?
Yeah, there's always white balance issue. The first photo is almost the true color. However, the base color of the ansorgii is remarkably different with other species such as congicus, endlicheri, lapradei. It's not hard to find the ansorgii when it's among others.

How big is your's CDM? I think my biggest one has hit a growth spurt and is gaining size at a pretty good pace. I do not have that much experience with lower jaw growth rates so I am comparing to my farmed Endli and Lap (not the 2 fastest growers)
I think my pics are a hair darker than real life but I am on darker substrate. I think this is my best one to show the head pattern.

My ansorgii is probably over 13" now (I will confirm this weekends). Yours has nice pattern on its head. What's size of yours?

I would guess around 11 or 12" range. He is gaining girth pretty fast as well.

Guess those red gravels work really good.

nothing better than a carpet of bichirs and your awesome picture skills.
sweeeeet ansorgii!

Thanks. They now don't form carpet, and prefer stack instead.:headbang2
