nice collection of pics. i saw one in the lfs a year ago or so that was 27" wish i could of got that one as it was only $60. mine is now at 14"+-. i'll try to get some pics of it up. i noticed it gets nippy with my ornate now and then, the ornate normally starts it.

it may have been a congicus, but i don't know for sure. it was 27" and it looked like an endli of some sort. i wasn't into them at the time i saw it. i was like damn thats a big one and moved on. it was only $60 for sure. i think the lfs got it in as a trade or just got it from some one not wanting to be in the hobby anymore. it was in their tank for a long time. they had it listed as a congicus, but i don't know for sure. it isn't there anymore.
He finally use red gravel. That is one big congi. Seeing that congi makes me miss my biggest lapradei....

Amazing collection but such a pity, he lost the upper jaw bichirs in his other tank.
I lost lots of bichirs too while I was on my vacation. I just kept wondering why I only lost the bichirs and not the other fish that are more sensitive. The fishsitter might have done something wrong. Then I opened up the belly of the dead bichirs and founded lots of shrimp/prawm shells. He probably just dumped the shrimp/prawn or just peeled them off and feed the shell and took the meat for his own consumption. Made the bichirs ate the shells as they were probably starving and force to eat the shells. One of the bichir I lost was my very own favorite bichir too. My bullet head nigerian lapradei. Biggest lap I ever had and probably biggest lap here in MFK but he's gone now.
