Polypterus Ornate overeating

Yah, i learned my lesson the hard way, it was fun wacthing them hunt, but when my albino got sick it was so stressfull to treat it, and the worst is when you try everything and the fish just die.

Before the Internet was even invented I would feed my predatory fish piranha, and snakeheads live feeders , didn't realize how bad un quarantined feeders were until learning years later.

I stopped the feeders all together when I posted this over a month ago. She's smaller today. I did put some epsom salt in the tank last night but only 5 tbsp because it worries me to put stuff in there. I know its not the dosing that someone said but I figured a little less is better than nothing?

In the tank there is a 4 year old Mpimbwe Frontosa, a bristlenose pleco that I think is 3 or 4, a Rapheal Catfish thats about 2, and the 2 polys. Everyone's still alive today.

Thats good to hear she getting smaller, just keep it up with the epsom salt and water change, one more thing try not to feed when doing treatment.

I won't feed again until she's back to normal... typically 3 or 4 days.

Slowly but surely getting smaller... and gets stuck in places. Lol

Here's a couple pictures. The first is last night. I was a little worried she'd be a goner by this morning as this is the largest she's ever gotten. The 2nd picture was taken about 5 minutes ago. She's getting back to normal.

I only did the half dose the one time because I was worried I'd kill the Raphael catfish. This is what she does every feeding. She eats, fills up like that for a day or 2 and then goes back to normal which is why I'm thinking I need to do more frequent and smaller meals.
