Hi all just got my p. oranatipinns about a week ago and have been trying to get him on to carnivore tablets with no luck.

So far I have tried
-poping 1 in his tank
-soaking one in prawns as he goes mad for these
-soaking in bloodworm as he goes mad for these as well

I tried not feeding him for a few days but made now difference.
When I soak them he comes out straight away light he does with prawns but he bites them then spits it out.

Any suggestions ?

oh he is 3" ish and in a grow out tank on his own. as I am waiting to get rid og my current stock in the 6x2x2 +sump.

^ what James said. It took my little endli almost an entire month before he ate anything pellet or shimp/beefheart/bloodworm/etc. Now he's an eating machine. Give it some time still to get used to things and the new food, especially if it's used to live food.

I've read both on these forums and elsewhere that a healthy poly can go over a month without food. But if it's after 3 weeks or so I'd probably put in something that you know he'll eat, at least a little bit of it to keep him eating. Maybe some others with more experience with this can share some words of wisdom as I've only had it happen twice and the second time was only 2 week hunger strike (because he would only eat live and I don't give them live).
Oh also maybe try feeding him closer to the night or early morning. May help some.

Before you starve it lokk at how youg it is. Yes polys can go a long long while with out food but you hacr a baby which is more delicate. If it eats shrimp be happy and keep feeding that. I had poly go on food strike but all mine are 15 inches plus so be careful with a baby. And remember people can go 8 days with out food but do you starve yourself especially a baby

3" sounds like a baby still.

p.s. My thing was never to withhold food either way. I always added the food, but took out whatever wasn't eaten. I'd just feed regularly every day the pellets or food I wanted it to eat. Never give them nothing to eat... It was just that it didn't eat any of the food until about 1month in. Or none that I saw it eat.

x2 on the spectrum sinking pellets my 2 senegals (3inch) love it

I feed massivore and tilapia to my guys they love it. Good luck just keep trying
Code:

are massivores floating or sinking. I know that any poly would accept sinking pellets with no hesitation.
