polypterus sp? PLEASE I.D. this.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's a hybrid. Ihave one too.
The hybrids' head shape is completely different from a true CB ansorgii..
the hybrids' is more square, short, and squat in shape, while true ansorgiis posses that awesome elongated type look.

Also, from tokyogasmask's pics, i assume CB ansorgii have a much darker base color and more defined patterns on the head.
After looking at the pics, the patterns on TRUE CB Ansorgii are more defined all over the body as well.

I want one now.

so this is not a ansorgii
you got it from fantastic fins, right? anyway these are CB. i got one from them too. i'm convinced these aren't pure ansorgii. endli/ansorgii cross of some sort. whether it's 50-50 hybrid or one of the parents is hybrid etc, i can't really say for sure, but it's got to have both ansorgii and endli genes in them. Like i've been saying for a while, all the CB 'ansorgii' i've seen posted on here look to be hybrids of sort, except for tokyogasmask's japanese bred one.

and to the OP, i concur with king-el that those are ansorgii/endli hybrid.

just outta curiosity, where did you get this information? :)

Because I own two of them that came from my supplier in Indonesia who specialize on hybridizing bichirs and other fish. Not only that, I'm probably the only person here in MFK who owns different kinds of hybrid bichirs.

Well that guy just want to take your money.

That wannabe ansorgii is not even close to look like a WC.

Reason why my friend from Indonesia are doing these bichirs hybrids it's not because to sell them but help ID people who might potentially buy a hybrid with a label and price of a close pure breed. Many Indonesian farms have lots of hybrid bichirs and sell them for the price of pure breed look a like.
