When my LFS first brought them in, they were 90 for 2". I freaked out because id never seen one for sale, asked for it, and was misidentified for another fish in the tank. Sold to me for 30. I see them now for 60 in Pittsburgh. I would check the size. If its less than 4" Id say its a ripoff.

I would love to have Teugelsi, one of the best looking types of Bichirs imo. None of my LFS's ever carry them though; hell they usually don't even carry something as common as a senegalus.
I was thinking about getting a 3-4" too at my LFS for $45. It's gotta be captive bred. Any major difference between captive bred vs wild?

when I had my WC teug and my CB teug in the same tank there were a lot of differences. The most noticeable one was head shape. The WC teugelsi's head was really flat and long where as the CB teug was more short and rounded. The other one was their patters CB's has more black than WC's do, but if you see them side to side the WC looks a lot more wild. I don't know how to explain it, but when they were side by side you could just kind of see the wildness of the WC and the tameness of the CB. It was very cool.
I recently paid 49 for each of my two teugelsi's. I'm not sure if they're cb's or wild caught but they're about 6 inches
