Try nerite snails, particularly the zebra (they look like tigers though.) One per 15 gallons and you'll have nary a speck of algae.

Hi ss720,

I must say aquascaping is very nicely done here. May I please ask what this wood is called which is placed here in the tank ?
I have started my community tank with platties and swordtails but later changed it to bichir tank, its small right now but will be setting up a new tank very soon and thinking of doing aquascaping in that tank.

I had that problem in my axolotl tank. I removed and cleaned the afflicted plants, reduced my light output, and re-scaped it. It has been fine since then.
 
Any update on the hair algae problem?
 
I have reduced plant light to 4 hours, and weak led lights for my viewing when I'm home.

Adding happy carbo daily.

Thread algae is gone, but there is some BBA. But it's not much.

Very hardy fish, one them jumped out of the tank filled with dust on day one, now it's the biggest of them:)

Loves to eat, not shy, and always at the top.
Never aggressive, but will eat anything it can fit.

I love them, but get at least three, I wish I had more.

My ornate bichir just ate one of the clown knife fish.... Almost the same size.

Going to get another tank in a few days, might use it as a grow out for some of the smaller of my fish..

The bichir took it at the surface, dragged the knife fish in to the plants.

I just feed them 20 mins ago.
