Polys in stock tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for all the opinions!

I could potentially also get a 24" wide aquarium (versus my current 18" wide tank). Can a 24" wide tank comfortably house the polys I have for many years to come? Keep in mind all of my polys are CB.

My biggest concern is spending all this time and hard work growing these polys from 3" babies and I end up stunting them and they don't reach their full sizes.

24” polys can live for life in there.

Since your bichirs are cb, its likely they will max around 10"-16". Depending on species. 18" wide would still be sufficient IMO. It's not really the tank size that will stunt them. I've seen someone grow out a 28"-30" bichir in a 24" wide.

I say go with the stock tank.. as Happen said, Polys make awesome viewing from above. If you have red sand they'll contrast pretty heavily and look really nice with some good lighting.
