In my opinion depth should, at the least, equal maximum fish length. I'd put netting over it before adding a high wall. With a high enough wall to guarantee that a 'pima can't jump over it you won't be able to see anything unless you have a viewing window. I think a wall would kind of defeat the whole purpose.
