Well Ive gone through a lot of ideas but my cousin just offered me his 250 gallon pond and pump. How could I refuse. Ive picked out a area between my front steps and house for it. I have not found any good sites about installing preformed ponds. What are some of the basics I should know. Is it as simple as digging a hole, dropping in the pond, and then pouring sand around it? Also how big should I expect this to be?
Thanks

Just dig the hole, then pour in sand to give it a nice smooth level spot to sit. Simple as that, and its really not all that big. You can keep some goldfish in it for life, but nothing bigger than that.

I think that would be fine. Just to let you know, I have had to replace my pump almost every year because they tend to get clogged really fast and then just burn out. Try to keep as much debris and leafs out of the pond as possible.
